Richard Jenkins - The Shape of Water
Christopher Plummer - All the Money in the World

Lesley Manville - Phantom Thread

Baby Driver
Blade Runner 2049
Winner! Dunkirk
The Shape of Water
Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Dunkirk - Hans Zimmer
Phantom Thread - Jonny Greenwood
Winner! The Shape of Water - Alexandre Desplat
Star Wars: The Last Jedi - John Williams
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri - Carter Burwell

Thoughts: Sure, I would've preferred Phantom Thread or Dunkirk. But no complaints about Desplat here.

"Mighty River" from Mudbound
"Mystery Of Love" from Call Me By Your Name
Winner! "Remember Me" from Coco
"Stand Up For Something" from Marshall
"This Is Me" from The Greatest Showman

Final Thoughts: Solid overall! Plenty of expected winners, but I'm mostly happy with the results. I loved The Shape of Water, and it's wonderful that Guillermo del Toro has won, because he really deserves this. The biggest complaints I have are about the documentary going to Icarus over Faces Places, and VFX going to Blade Runner 2049 over War for the Planet of the Apes (which really deserved it for this last film). While I'm partial to Call Me By Your Name (which got something!!) and Timothee Chalamet, seeing Gary Oldman win was great as well. Jordan Peele has an Oscar, James Ivory has an Oscar, at least Gerwig and Morrison were nominated, Phantom Thread got something. A much smoother and less surprising show than last year.
